Jeff Bates

Mike wrote this in the comment section of the Rider Down: Jeff Bates post earlier today:

Hey y’all….Jeff passed last night. Hoist one, go for a killer ride, whatever you wanna do….just give one good last thought to Jeff and his family.

All y’all in the DC family have been killer with all the great support for our dear friend.

Mike

My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

About big jonny

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. Thanks Jonny…means a ton. Jeff was a great fucking guy and we’re all reelin’ a bit.

Me and a bunch of his friends are gonna have a rip snortin’ SS ride in Park City tomorrow in his honor. Hopefully, someone will bring a camera and document it….should be a real kick in the pants.

We love you guys and really appreciate all the support the DC family has graciously handed out for Jeff and his family.

Drill it every fucking chance you get.

    Mike

  2. To shamelessly paraphrase Robert Earl Keen, I hope your road goes on forever, and your party never ends.

I’m gonna miss you a hell of a lot.

  3. Didn’t know this man…but he sounds like someone we will all miss. Not enough truly kinds persons in the world. Having lost close friends several times in life, my prayers, meditations and pedal strokes go out to everyone connected. Keep ridin’ with Jeff’s love.

  4. Fuck Cancer. Stupid fucking cancer. I can think of a million others who probably need to go before a solid mountain biker and family guy… RIP. I am truly sorry to his people.

  5. tipping a beer and hitting the trail for a fighter, don’t know the man but my heart goes out to his people. Rest easy Jeff
