The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure.
Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
Patrick Swayze in “Roadhouse”, actually. And if it was on one of the fourteen or fifteen bazillion channels I don’t watch but pay too much for, I damned sure wouldn’t be here.
fuck yeah he was….
Baller. Pro. Tafi was there for the work. Unlike, ahem… Cipo.
Just say’n.
Gnome + 1
I got one for ya:
I think it’s Eric Heiden, the speedskater…not 100% sure though. I once thought it was Phiney. Maybe it is.
How bout someone post the greatest American cycling picture of all time – the finish line photo of Lemond winning the 1989 WC on the heels of winning the Tour in terrible weather on a treacherous course with as the great Bon Scott would say “a bullett in his back!”. The look on Lemond’s face gives you sense of why he was one of the greatest “ballers” of all time and certainly the greatest American.
Hack1, don’t worry. It is in the queue.
My favorite of all time. Good call Jonny
Bruekink, Hamptsen, and Delgado all get baller status for the 88 Giro finish on the Gavia:
Fav Hampsten shot is prior to Giro time trial, in leader’s jersey. Hands on hips. Rad.
…krosm…phinney’s kid is trying to rule the world & he’s off to a damn good start…i can only imagine once he gets a few more years & miles under his legs…
…mike…abso-fucking-lutely…roger de vlaeminck…enough said…
“only those who are in top condition can say that The Ronde is not hard, for everyone else, it’s the way of the cross!” – A. Tafi
Awesome trainer videos (VHS) for the garage was the Mapei 1-2-3 with Tafi and his crew, 98 & 99. These fucks dominated the cobblestone cow-shit soaked roads of Europe.
Nice tanline thar…
As a Wise man once said, “Pain don’t hurt”.
And yea. That arm tan-line is mighty interesting.
