Witnesses said the red Ford was speeding, going 90 mph or faster, when it hit the teenager on a bicycle Thursday night.
The police car was right behind.
Christopher E. Cooper, 17, a son, a smiling classmate, and a skateboarder, died of blunt trauma from the collision.
…News of Cooper’s death hit classmates at Truman High School especially hard. Less than two hours after classes began Friday, a steady line of cars formed with parents waiting to pick up distraught children.
“He wasn’t just a good kid, he was a great kid,” freshman Katie Jones said to sophomore Lacey Hubbard later Friday afternoon at the crash site.

…i would think the active decision to run from the cops means this is not manslaughter, but 1st degree murder w/ a deadly weapon…
