Dude Bro’s and Dust Storms

It seems that things have been pretty uneventful lately. Or maybe I have just been boring? I haven’t clipped into pedals in over 3 weeks and I’m OK with it, for now. I really haven’t felt the need to put in the miles since my epic fail out at the the 24 hours in the Enchanted Forest. Sometimes it’s just not your day, and that day it wasn’t mine. So I took a little time out and it has been nothing but downhillin’, BMX’n and chillin in the pool around these parts latley. It was a much needed break from washing down shot blocks with cytomax, and my knees seem a lot happier. I think break time is over soon though. I have some plans for a sweet little overnighter in the works. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

America celebrated another birthday this past Monday, and that only means one thing around these parts. Cruiser. Nation. Everybody’s favorite no-holds-barred cruiser downhill race went off at yet again. Due to an un-planned dismount from my moto a few days earlier, I was a little too banged up to compete. But I did my part to empty the keg and to heckle as a spectator. The top five leaders were absolutely hauling ass this year. It was impressive to watch. Thanks go out to Mrs. AZBikes for cooking up the post race feast!

Upon returning  to the Phoenix Valley the next day, I was treated to the gnarliest sand storm I have ever seen. I heard that it made national news but here is a cool time lapse video just in case you didn’t see it.

It looks a lot crazier than it really is. It’s mostly just a bunch of fine dust rolling through at about 20mph but it blocks out the sun and makes you cough a little so people get a little nutty. Here is a phone pic I snapped from my roof right before it rolled over me:

I noticed today that The Epic Ride came up with a little Friday Motivation for today. I like her.

I was cruising around over on Hellingham and found this little feel good piece. I need to buy more plane tickets.

I like that Hellingham’s style with a simple mission statement of Bikes, Beats and Beer. He even throws in the occasional hotness, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that. Just like their ain’t nothing wrong with Fugazi mashed up with Wu-Tang.

Get rowdy this weekend. Keep it dirty…
