my head is ouchy

I don’t feel as bad as Caveman does right now but last night is still a bit foggy for me. He was feeling rowdy this morning and wanted to write a post, so we let him. He won’t stop laughing and keeps saying he hates everything.

40hands and I pushed through all the after parties on 3 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours and made a few friends along the way. There is a case of redbull, 2 empty bottles of bourbon and a Platypus bladder of vodka all sitting next to my sleeping bag. I have no idea how any of this stuff got here. I brought along my camera last night and we are starting to fill in the blanks.

gun show.

Our goal for this trip was to bring some DC rowdy to the Leadville 100. I think we did it. We are off to ride Monarch Crest Trail now. Because we can.

  1. Damn. The guns on that last babe scare me.

    I’m gonna go hide now.

    Congrats to the winners.

  2. I rode Monarch Crest and Rainbow in ’95 or ’96 and can’t understand why I haven’t returned. Have fun!

  4. Stop hyping up gravel roads, that shit looks horrible, is this what mt biking has come to? makes me want to puke!!! jocks on bikes.

  5. I didn’t ride that horseshit, but i did hang out in the mountains and enjoy a bunch of whiskey…then went to Buena Vista and rode real trails. Despite the lack of singletrack, the course was still plenty hard and at sickening altitude..it was a great scene and a great day to hang out in the woods with our bikes. I don’t know if it is what MTB has come to since this race has been around a long time… I know i had way more fun as a spectator than those racers did
