I guess I don’t know what you mean…

From yesterday’s Press Briefing with boy-howdy Scott Stanzel.

Q Scott, is Scooter Libby getting more than equal justice under the law? Is he getting special treatment?

MR. STANZEL: Well, I guess I don’t know what you mean by “equal justice under the law.” But this is a unique case, there’s no doubt about that. And we have said that there are a lot of people on all sides of this issue who’ve made good points. The President took a very measured approach to it. He believed that the jury verdict should be respected and — but he did feel that the sentence was excessive, in terms of jail time. But this is a unique case, and there’s no doubt about that.

Yeah, I can see how you might be confused with “equal justice under the law”. Quite a phrase, ain’t it? It leaves so much unsaid. A whole lotta gray area there, huh?

What?

I guess killing over 150 people when you’re the Governor of Texas wasn’t, how do the kids say it these days? Excessive?

No, that wasn’t excessive in the least bit.

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. Dude, what do you expect from anybody still associated with the current administration? I’m surprised that anybody working for Dubya manages to avoid shitting themselves while getting dressed.
