Hells yeah…

Since this weekend was Milan-San Remo, one of my most favorite races to watch, I was pretty freakin’ happy to see Cavendish take the win on the line after almost 300 miles kilometers of racing.

Sure, there are plenty of folks out there that think he is cocksure, and an arrogant prick, but aren’t most really good sprinters? Zabel, really being the exception to that rule, hell even Petacchi punched a bus once because he lost and broke his hand and all.

I’ve always believed, you’re not cocky if you can back it up. Cav, he can back it up.

I was surprised when earlier today, I surfed over to MSNBC.com, and there was a headline on there about MSR. The headline, I shit you not, was, “Armstrong finishes 125th in first race back in Europe.” Yeah, the headline was about Armstrong finishing 9 minutes back. Oh well, at least they had an article in there, but the headline was wicked stupid.

  1. I have to agree with you about that BS MSNBC Headline. My hat is off to Haussler as well. The above pic says it all, look how close those 2 finished and left the chasers fighting for 3rd and back. My hat also has to go to the guys in the pic to still make a run for the line after the longest single day bike race in the world. I am no better in saying the next line but why are we even discussing Armstrong in this post?

    Anyways, Go Cav!

  2. Awsome sic Finish….Cav misses the break sprint to the line , but manages to still win.(by an ass hair). He might just be the current fastest man on two wheels…Hes off told World Track Champs..Starts Weds. Thatll be intresting to see how team GB does this year…

  3. In that picture it looks like Haussler has taken it. But, can’t really tell unless from the side I guess, but yeah, hella close race. It was awesome. And to win it your first time out? Amazing.

I have to agree with Gnome, thank god Spring is here finally. Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

  4. I believe it was six centimeters . Haussler sprinted on an angle , the man from Manx was on a rail!

  5. …so, speaking of “favorite races to watch” how come vs channel doesn’t have a nice 2hr broadcast of one of the truly great euro races ???…

    …la primavera…it’s springtime…it’s italia…it’s one of the monuments of cycling & it ain’t on the tube !!!…
…fuck…if they needed an angle, our boy armstrong was even there…

…am i missing something, other than the race ???…
