About five years ago while visiting my brother in Colorado he introduced me to a friend of his. The friend and I grabbed a bike ride together – it was one of the few times I was looking forward to the end of the ride. After that I was promised a viewing of his extensive bike collection. Take a look — but make sure you have at least 15 minutes to spend surfing this vintage mountain bike site.

All the bikes you see on the site are in great condition. For example he has one of the earliest bikes that Tom Ritchey ever made. Cherry condition.
Here’s a gem – 1997 Ibis HakkaLugi — hand job brake cable hanger and MORON tubing. Too fucking cool.
Perhaps my favorite one is the unfinished 1998 project bike – a one-off full squish bike built piece by piece with no drawings from CNC aluminum. Amazing.
The friend has a nice garage, let’s just put it that way. I’m pawing through shit just to find a pedal wrench in my garage and this guy could build a fucking jet plane in his shop.
Unbelievable history captured here – and, like all his bikes (and his garage) the site is as neat as a pin.
Enjoy.

The Ritchey reminds me of that one scene in “This is Spinal Tap” where Nigel is showing off his guitar collection to Meathead and he comes to the Strat with the tag still on it.
“But this one goes to eleven.”
No, the Strat only went to ten afaik. But it was bought new and never touched or even looked at, let alone played. Nevermind the collector value; a real shame that it wasn’t being enjoyed.
“It’s one louder.”
Landshark does it so much better…
