DC goes off to War

A while back, I sent out a care package to my buddy Afghan BMXer somewhere in Afghnaistan. Judging by these pictures, I would say he is doing a fine job spreading the DC infection on the other side of the world.

You can see some of the other picture he has sent here and here

It has come to my attention, from a couple of different sources, that this web site is now blocked on US bases in Afghanistan. That’s a damn shame. There are quite a few of our DC brothers and sisters over there in harm’s way. Even though they won’t be able to read this…may they all return home safe and sound.

  2. yeah, am diggin the artillery pics. Not that I support war, but if someone was shootin at me then I would want some of that shit. Just sayin. Jeebus, bring those guys home, please.

  3. great sticker placements. I only hope they get to read some DC, give ’em what they want!

  4. No problem surfin’ your site from here in Kuwait! =P There used to be a single speeder ridin’ around here a couple of months back. He said he bought his bike off of a Soldier moving from Iraq to Afghanistan and there wasn’t any room for the bike. $50 for a Kona. . .urban type ride. . .pink and white, forget the model. No porn, no Pabst, just sun and sand. :)

  5. …simpl-e…stay safe, stay strong & come on home…

…when the time is right, sounds like you’ve got some riding to make up for…

…got a nephew prob’ly clearing ‘meps’ as we speak (monday) in socal & heading for lackland afb…his brother did 2 tours in that sandbox called iraq…

…i hate the thought of war but, brother, you have my respect…

  6. Thanks for the well wishes. You’re nephew is smart going into the Air Force. We in the Army make fun of the “Chair Force” but that’s just cause we’re jealous. =P This place is clearing out. Units heading home early and not being replaced. Less and less people doing less and less work. Smaller foot print and all that. The guys we’re sending to Afghanistan now are helping those already there to get out on schedule. In a couple of years there will be a whole lot less of us in the sandbox. There are actually a ton of bikes over here. They’re all very “Wal Mart-ish” but they’re free and the army hires mechanics to fix ’em regularly. They make everybody wear helmets, reflective clothing and lights. I would say the army is alot more bike friendly then I had ever thought! I think I’ll make it home in time for the Tour of the White Mountains this year! :)
