Clenbuterol. Go figure.

The UCI has issued a provisional suspension of RadioShack rider Fuyu Li after he tested positive for the stimulant Clenbuterol at last month’s Tour of Flanders.

According to a UCI statement issued Thursday, a urine sample submitted by the Chinese rider ahead of the cobbled classic was tested at the WADA accredited laboratory in Ghent, Belgium. Fuyu finished 122nd at the Tour of Flanders, 9:15 behind winner Fabian Cancellara (Saxo Bank).

Clenbuterol, listed as banned substance under the World Anti-Doping Code, is commonly used as a stimulant, a weight-loss drug and a bronchodilator. The drug is also specifically banned under Article 21 of the UCI’s Anti-Doping Rules.

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  2. L-B-L: Gilbert or Friere. Can’t pick just one guy with 250 bibs rolling out, fer chrissake.
