Maybe web-wizards Jonny or Gnome will get that fixed. if not, doesn’t matter.

I’ll get the captions started: “That’s a good lookin’ fire pole, ain’t’it?”

And for your saturday morning philosophy hit: Please read William Ayers’ op-ed in the NY Times. I hope i will be that thoughtful and concise when i’m a washed-up old fart.

but i’m not yet. i got my pro mtb license today. it’s go time.

  1. Thanks for that. I didn’t read it earlier because I was done with the whole election, and wasn’t really interested in whatever ‘rant’ he was on about.

    I was wrong.

He said more succinctly what I was trying to convey in more than one of my posts here re:Ayers/Obama. Just because I lived with a guy and tag-teamed a few girls with him after club-hopping, does not make me Jewish. Nor does the fact my grandmother-in-law worked for the National Socialist German Workers’ Party does not make me a Hitler-lovin’ moustache-wearin idiot. (Although the latter is sometimes true. YOU try drinking at Oktoberfest and NOT doing something stupid. Trust me. It happens.)

Well said Mr. Ayres. You are a stronger man than I for willingly staying out of the spotlight.

  2. “Peaceful protests had failed to stop the war. So we issued a screaming response. But it was not terrorism; we were not engaged in a campaign to kill and injure people indiscriminately, spreading fear and suffering for political ends.”

Best quote, but why does Bill remind me of Pink Floyd so much? I always told my Dad that it didn’t matter… this Ayers issue. But he held fast to the pitch of character. It was probably the best ploy the Repug’s had and it was working on the ignorant masses to an extent.

Thanks for digging that up Flagstaffist. I never would have seen it otherwise.

    And, the poles are nice.

  3. All that aside, the question-“What do we really know about that man”-is largely unanswered. A man with nothing to hide would be abit more forthcoming, don’t ya think?

Well what’s done is done. I wish the man all sucess as president. Not because I give a rat’s ass about him one way or the other, but for the good of the country.

  4. For those of you who find Bill Ayers words worthy, the documentary “The Weather Underground” is excellent, don’t miss the deleted scenes/bonus.

  5. Bill Ayers, the rright reverend Reverend Wright, Padre Pflager and all their kind can take a flying fuck at a rolling donut. What that entire bunch knows about right and wrong, you could write on a postage stamp.

  6. I think that is where some of the major issues arise, people’s different beliefs in what is right and wrong.

  7. There ain’t no “issue”. Right is right and wrong is wrong. If you can’t figure it out you need to get the fuck off this planet.

  8. “What that entire bunch knows about right and wrong, you could write on a postage stamp.

Unfortunately,, there is no right or wrong any more. We live in a relativistic age.

For those of us with a “classical” training (you know, objective, rational logic and/or physical science) this is pretty sad. Really stoopid, greedy people will insist that guys like Plato, Aristotle and Schrodinger were a bunch of haters. Usually to prove why the “free market” owes them a bailout or why dinosaurs are just a clever joke perpetrated by their chosen deity. Yeesh.

  9. Dave, glad you got it figured out, that explanation clarifies everything, I can’t believe there are so many problems in this world when such a simple rule of thumb exists.

So, explain to me what a justifiable killing is.

I prefer facts too, not opinions.
