This just in regarding the The 12th Annual Tour of the White Mountains, scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2008:
September 8th is just around the corner; this often-overlooked date has much significance.
On September 8th:* Evel Knievel’s attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, Idaho, failed after a parachute prematurely deployed on his “sky cycle.”
* The first Oprah Winfrey show aired (seriously).
* Guitar Shorty was born (1939).
* 3M began marketing Scotch Tape. As an opinion, Scotch Tape continues to aspire to be as useful as Duct Tape. And, debatably, most important of all… this September 8th a $10 processing fee will go in effect for all registrations into the Show Low Bluff Tour of the White Mountains.
Register soon to save a few dollars and to assure your spot in this years celebration of sweet single track, crisp clean air and pedaling in the White Mountains.
