Guess again if you think Pedro’s Festival is only for cyclists…

It’s an annual summer ritual for the diehard mountain bike fan but Pedro’s Festival offers much more than just great singletrack. This year’s Festival serves up a complete menu of fun in the sun activities for the whole family- from daily live broadcasts of the Tour de France sponsored by Trek, kids’ movies and the perennial favorite Bouncy Castle to morning yoga for a more serene start to the day – there truly is something for everyone.

Kids’ activities feature prominently in the Clif Bar Activities Arena where the youngsters can get in touch with their inner artist through numerous Bicycle Artwork projects. There’s a Bike Parade, a chance to craft their own Dream Catchers, get messy with S’Mores, find prizes in a Haystack Dive, and have lots of fun riding their bikes on any one of many kid-specific rides and contests.

In addition to grilling on the community grills and enjoying a cold brew in the beer garden, evenings at the Fest feature bike-in movies for both kids and adults, live entertainment nightly in the Dirt Rag entertainment tent, and Tour de France viewing with trivia contests.

…or only for “big kids”

Naturally, the Festival also features lots to do for the bike-minded both on and off the bike. In addition to rides for all abilities and disciplines with pros like Alison Dunlap, Sue Haywood, Jeff Lenosky and Barry Wicks, IMBA’s Trail Care Crew hosts a beginner skills clinic, and other clinics are on offer too. You can learn the basics of suspension, how the pros tune their bikes, or attend a tech seminar with a pro mechanic.

About big jonny

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
