About big jonny

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. I’m diggin’ it, could be more yellow though. Remember, you want people to know your a winner.

  2. looks nice man…

kinda almost like 2005 style instead of like 1998 style web stuff…

    progress… it’s defiantly good

  3. nice. Got rss? Google reader like rss. No nerd jokes- got to maximize my slacking off. What say you good man?

  4. Looks really nice in IE.

..looks like a hastily written ‘post-it’ in Opera though.
Maybe thats the price for running a pinko-commie browser, but still..

  5. Looks like last month 1.3 % of page views were via Opera.

    IE was @ 58.7 %.

    Firefox @ 26.9 %.

I’ll tell ya this much – this whole “browser compatibility” issue makes me nuts. Not just with this new site layout, but with all the web work I’ve ever done. And don’t even get me started on IE7. All kinds of shit is different from IE6.

  6. Hmmm – kinda miss the old format, all this white background and the BLOG sylie makes it feel like much the rest out there.
Sorry for the negative, but DC is my fav visit each miserable workday.

  7. More yellow. And some of the tags, etc at the bottom aren’t showing up.

If you need a hand with cross brwser stuff, let me know. I’ve got a few tricks….

  8. consider this a big thumb-down for ie7 only specialties. Love the yellow. Like jaundice, but happier.

non-sequitur: Back to biking- check out my pals on the aids ride http://tinyurl.com/yvs87n

The reason two of the fools in that pic are in suits/tuxes is because the night before we had an all nighter sha-bang, and they kept going right up till sun up, and then partied cross town to the depart point for a sendoff.

ok. Done. What were we talking about again? Firefox good, IE- fine. Aids ride good.

  9. I don’t get it. I’m sitting here with my pants down and I can’t figure were everything is.

  10. change is usually good. Kind of weird the DC being all work safe and stuff. RSS would be handy.
Oh, and this actually works on a MAC.

  11. Miss the yellow, but looks cleaner, gonna miss the old but change is good. Either way will keep on visiiting

  12. I don’t know … seems to ordinary! what I liked about the site before was that it was different. Yellow background, mix of bikes / porn, irreverent topics, politics. Everything about DC was different from the mainstream. I’m not sayin’ that you are selling out … but thats kinda what it looks like. Boring white background, no more girls, but wow .. RSS feed!

What made the site great was that it pushed buttons … on every level. The danger would be that it becomes too “white bread”, safe and boring … and ultimately, not something that folks would want to visit.

  13. I am going to have to agreee with mattastic up above. The older style and format definitely set you apart from the rest. Change is good and all but don’t forget your class (or lack thereof)

  14. Good on ya – I’m astounded you lasted as long as you did with using DW to do it each day (or two). WordPress is a good product for a blog :)

BTW, I enjoy reading your posts from the other side of the world…

Oh, and didya see that Julian Dean, a fellow Kiwi, seemed to be the form CA sprinter in the Giro and he didn’t even seem to have a lead out man!
