A race is a race is a race. Drop your doping opinions at the door and realize there is a fight for the Maillot Vert happening at this moment and the punch line is that Boonen is reciting pick-up lines at home.
The Green Jersey is the pimp’s de jour. Fuck climbing. Climbing is slow and boring. Same with the TT. With the Vert, Nobody really gets to hang on too long unless the name is a gift, like Zabel, or McEwen, or you’re some Italian DB so full of yourself you want to be a “Zebra” instead of a “Lion King”. Ta The last 10k of a race is where nerves are in full effect. I can’t imagine how that feels in The Tour. Elbows sharp. Focus unreal. Talk about a diplomatic experience? 40 mph in your best clown suit. Full throttle. No time for Q & A.
And Lotto puts McEwan on sideline? WTF? is he the beat down side-show-bob step child of Boom Boom? All because Evans is the first loser Australia has seen and there’s some national misguidance towards the Yellow? Sorry, but you Down Unders are nothing but the green. And, unfortunately, I haven’t seen any tactical talent from Evan’s since he entered the game. If he’s off just a hare, he won’t be able to think his way out and he’s up against the most unruly game players around. They’re throwing the Aussie Sprint authority to the ground for that.
When teams go lame. Looking forward to manana, I’ll find my self a fat fuck bar stool down at Pay n Take and see how it unfolds.
July is top notch. Dope or not.

Yep.
Dope or not, I will watch the shit and enjoy it, just like every year.
McEwan should be automatic at this point, no invite is ridiculous.

This is Tour number 14 for Zabel, AND he’s the oldest in the field. Turns 38 today.
My money is on him for quite a few this time around with McEwen somewhere else and no-one else really putting it down yet. (it is only day #3)
Let’s hear it for the old guys.

…i’ll be there, gnome, dressed to kill in my “dopers suck” cycling socks…& i’ll buy the first round of “fire brewed” beers from the devil himself…
…will frishkorn was awesome today, but was that you on the podium in the ‘cofidis’ kit ???…
sommerfliesby on July 7th, 2008 10:17 am
Is it me or are the kits getting uglier? Where’s Rock Racing when you need them?
Gnome on July 7th, 2008 11:21 am
Frishy was the shit today. Then he got played like he was an mountainbiker who showed up to a road race.
Totally Bad ass.
Zen on July 7th, 2008 1:02 pm
Got played? He got second after being in the break all day? I wouldn’t call that played. If It is, Let be be the first to shout ‘PLAY ME, BABY!!!!’
Gnome on July 7th, 2008 1:52 pm
Dude, he got played like a fiddle. They had two minutes to spare and he was the only guy to maintain the tempo to the end while the others matched up. That’s mountain biker logic. The road is a mind game.
And he was totally bitchen too.
bikesgonewild on July 7th, 2008 2:59 pm
…no doubt he got played…
…when foo foo bridged & kicked past, frishy’s hard acceleration back up too him was a monster pull considering the day’s overall effort…when he looked to doo doo to pull through, doo doo jumped & tried to leave him, but frishy worked his ass off, almost got boxed on the right but came back around on the left for second…
…they all deserve credit for a successful break but frishy deserved the win for initiating the break from the get go…in the end, ya, frishkorn got played…
…would, that i was ever so good, as to get played & place second from a breakaway, in my first tour de france…serious props are in order…
Gnome on July 7th, 2008 3:44 pm
indeed. it was Bitchen Camaro.

Homeboy admitted he made a mistake, and I think that only points to high class on the part of the tour virgin. I hope he gets another crack at it. Once bitten…fool me twice…whatever. You get it.
