Recovery

My pain is with me always.
It is the last thing I feel before I fall asleep,
and the first thing I feel when I wake up.

When I get up from this chair,
it’ll take me a minute to gather myself.
The pain will be there.
It is always there,
waiting for me.

About big jonny

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. My only pain today is the headache I have from too many beers watching the game last night. That and schweaty balls, but that’s not pain; that’s just annoying.

  3. Dude, no it won’t. Don’t think that way. Your pain is a house guest who you will eventually send packing.

  4. What Eric R said…

After a 2 year hiatus I am finally back on the bike. It started out with 5 min rides on the trainer, then the short commute to and from work or a ride around the block with my son. The training wheels came off last August. He’s now riding some of the first single-track I ever knew. There has been many dark days and many tears shead by both myself and my wife due to my back issues but with some life-style changes made, Im now training for an 8 hour relay in mid July with the same guys I used to do the 24hr events with. Im nowhere close to being where I was but it feels good to be on a bike. Re-hab is a hidious bitch-goddess. I hate doing it but it keeps me walking upright and on 2 wheels. Re-hab also keeps the wife happy…;)

  5. I can’t speak for a back injury, but for the Ti-fortified leg I certainly feel the pain in the AM. My first couple hours of the day are rather uncomfortable. Shit, I need to get back on the bike…
