Shit was starting to hit the fan way before 2007. And people would rather foreclose their houses than ride a bike to work. It is a very select population of people, and although saving money is a bonus, most of us ride because it is exciting.

“I’ll never sell my Hummer…………”
Um, I think you mean “No one wants to buy my Hummer”…
I’m keeping my 4wd SUV for one simple reason…I own it! No payments here baby! I do drive it less and use the bike more, but the money saved buying a vehicle that gets good mileage isn’t enough to warrant a $300+ car payment. Speaking of, I need to go hook the trailer to the cross bike to take the kid to school…

Ah, yes… the halcyon days of $2 a gallon gas. With the dollar as weak as it is internationally, and oil hitting new record highs every few days, it would seem out addiction is hitting the point where it’s do or die for enforcing Mad Max like restrictions and forcing auto makers to step up or get out of the game. But that’s what a bleeding-heart, card-carrying liberal, socialized-medicine supporter like me WOULD say, now isn’t it ?

The only “hummer” folks want to buy has nothing to do with those single occupancy armored personnel carriers.

2007 : “Gas ain’t never gonna be too high for me to drive my SUV.”
2008 : “I wonder if it’s true about ‘never forgetting how…’ ?”
Shame Bush didn’t ‘jawbone’ the Saudis with all the ‘capital’ he accrued over his time in office.
