Aside from watching the upset game of the year (and winning on it) I was out in the garage getting some one on one workout(s) with my tool(s).
Word. Giants are for real. It’s all about the NFC East. Tom Brady who? What? Huh?
The other week I saw a LeMond frame for sale over at sellwoodcycle.com.
Any color you want, but it’d be like blue and cream.

I got in touch with my man Tonkin right quick and hammered out the details.
Frame with original fork and headset was soon to be mine. Fuck that one inch threadless carbon nonsense. I rocked that for years already. I’m over it. First thing I did was slide the matching steel fork back on in ‘er.
Like you wouldn’t.

Today I finished dressing her up with 8 speed Chorus. Wrapped the bars right before halftime.
I don’t know what I’m happier about; my new bike or the Giants beating the Patriots.
It’s a win - win up in here.

I was going to mock you for putting on the carbon over the OEM but then I read further. Not that I don’t have a carbon for, I just wouldn’t put one on that bike.

Dude,
Just got home from hanging out with some Flagstaffist dude that may have shat the proverbial brick.
Oh, and The Pun and I drank the rest of Sporto’s dry…

I’ve been getting my ‘88 Paramount ready for the Ragby up here in Iowa. The Aluminum GIOS is just too much of an ass beater for drinking, beer sliding, (fill in from here).
Grom on February 4th, 2008 10:39 am
Kick ass bike. It looks almost as good as the giants did the last 2:45 last night.
sorelegs on February 4th, 2008 11:03 am

Great game, but I just found out that some guy from Arizona got his paws on a bike I’d love to own that was ten fucking miles from my house all along. Damn.

I painted that frame about 20 years ago when I worked for the importer. Columbus TSX. Cobalt Blue, G pattern. Nice.
Joe on February 4th, 2008 1:39 pm
I have the kestrel fork like that with the steel steer tube. old school fork mixed with a steel frame.
ditch the wheels and look for some old mavics.
like yer setup.
big jonny on February 4th, 2008 2:05 pm
Do you guys realize those are Campagnolo Vento wheels?
curious george on February 4th, 2008 2:26 pm
yes, but it’s still wrong!
box section tubbies would set it off
big jonny on February 4th, 2008 3:21 pm
Aight, just checking. I’ve got some other wheels out in the garage… I’ll see what I can turn up.
el jefe on February 4th, 2008 4:08 pm
I think the problem is not with the wheels, but with the baby blue Vittorias. Other than that it’s classic. Where did you find an 8sp Chorus gruppo that wasn’t entirely knackered? It’s got to be 15 years old…
DrunkenBiker on February 4th, 2008 4:15 pm
“but with the baby blue Vittorias”
+1
big jonny on February 4th, 2008 10:57 pm
Blue? Those are gray & black Vittoria Action HSD23s. Next time, use better pics…
The kit came at me from five different directions. Just fell together.
Funny how life works out that way sometimes.
Joe on February 5th, 2008 12:26 am
ohh one more thing. * enjoy the ride * :)

I bet some scenster kid just saw this and said “oh what a waste, it should be made a fixie.”
Sweet ride I wish I had a badass steel bike.
pirata on February 5th, 2008 7:21 pm
yeah…keep the ventos is my vote.
Nice bike. The head tube looks as big as my seat tube.
el jefe on February 5th, 2008 10:16 pm
Yeah, I need my eyes checked… Still tires should be black. Always. Forever. Just like a Model T Ford.
Keep the Ventos. Ride the lovely beast.
big jonny on February 6th, 2008 9:08 am
I can do black. My man Big Gay Randy (BGR) called me out on the tires too. He said, “Those things suck.”
Hard to argue with that.
Looks like I’ll be diggin’ in the crates for something new here in a bit. Might as well be out in the garage fucking with my bike collection - there is a foot (at least) or new snow outside.
At least we’ll have a healthy forest come summer with fire danger held back to something more reasonable that “you like in a tinder box.”
jake on February 6th, 2008 1:22 pm
f*^% the giants. and mor so, f%$# lemond. he is a piker
