Blowing up the spot. Our own Mr. Mason made the evening news. Advocacy. It just feels good.

The “three foot rule” made the evening news in Phoenix
Cyclists That Can: Randy and the Three Foot Law
Last week, for the second time in the past two months, I had another altercation with a car. The first incident occurred on San Fransisco street when I was harassed for taking my lane to ensure my safety as an asshole in a mustang rev’d and tailgated me in a hasty attempt to pass unsafely, [...]
The tranquilizing drug of gradualism
I don’t get serious very often, but do you know why you REALLY have today off? From the Letter From a Birmingham Jail to the famous I Have a Dream speech to the rest of his oratory art…the motivation and the follow through to take on The Man is simply remarkable.
It was one part vision mixed [...]

Driver who targeted cyclists gets probationary sentence
I don’t have a good way to kick off an article like this. Words like “psycho”, “wacky”, or “ridiculous” don’t seem to do it justice.
A Bayfield man who used his pickup to run bicyclists off the road was given probation Thursday after pleading guilty to reckless endangerment and felony menacing.
Todd Grooms, 41, wasn’t facing [...]
Five years
Dr. Thompson faces his destiny.
The culmination of it all fell upon this man like a ton of bricks. And I, having seen a man likewise sentenced to five years incarceration for what he did to me with his automobile… I have little sympathy.
A doctor convicted of assaulting two bicyclists by slamming on his car [...]
City of Flagstaff Transit vs. Cyclist
Because it never ends…
From: BGR
Riding to work early Saturday morning 12-19-09. I was “buzzed” by a City of Flagstaff transit bus. I had moved to the left side of the bicycle lane to avoid a pile of snow. The bus chose to come within a foot of me, even though their was no other traffic [...]
Pop a round at a cyclist, get four months.
Erick R. dropped me an email about this one this morning. He’s got a post up over at Tuscon Bike Lawyer. Just makes you glad to be alive, don’t it?
A former Asheville firefighter will spend 120 days in jail for shooting at a bicyclist, narrowly missing his head with a bullet that pierced [...]

Scott drops the japanese bike tree bomb and asks, would it work over here?
Not sure if you’ve seen this yet, just came across it on the Homepage.
Pretty sweet, but would it fly state side?
It is always the cyclist’s fault.
Chris Woodyard is not getting a Christmas card from my family this year.
[A] driver on the way to work struck a St. Mary’s County, Md., bicyclist earlier this month and killed him. . . The driver, a 20-year-old in her Honda Accord, told police she never saw the biker. But the accident might have been [...]
Road Rage Trial
Not exactly recent news, but we’re not exactly a source for recent ’round these parts. More like day late and dollar short. Hey, we do what we can. You, dear reader, can expect nothing less than mediocrity and mid-pack finishes from the likes of us. But watch your back at [...]
Spreads Smooth Like Creamy Peanut Butter
So as of late I have been hi-jacking photos off of a friend of a friend of a distant long lost twice removed cousins web page. Most days when I get home from my salt mine I check to see what the hell the world is up too. Once upon a while ago [...]
Samuel’s Epic – Ride for the Trees
Got this one in from our man on the south/central american tour, Samuel Hagler. His ride both sounds and looks epic. I doubt I’ll ever have the desire to do what he has done here. And for good reason. Instead, I’ll just tip a brew back and say goddamn. Nice work man:

Ain’t that some shit
The last time I was in Nashville, it gave me no reason ever to return. It was Road National Championships. The week prior to the race, we spent some quality time rolling around the burbs and hoods. Not once, did I feel save or respected as a cyclist. Apparently, that is status quo.

Everyday
Everyday I read a few blogs. Most of them are about nothing, some are just old friends that I try and stay up to date in their lives. One of these blogs kills me. Everyday I come into work, sit down, turn on the computer and go to this one.
With a sort [...]
Humpday. Musings. Sheldon’s Fixie!!
Insomnia just don’t stop. It’s true. I don’t get out much. I get this angst that I’m never going to find all the good nuggets in the tubes like Bret Michaels getting donkey punched (so to speek) at some award show:
Perhaps that was old news but like I said, I don’t get out much. And [...]
