Samuel’s Epic – Ride for the Trees

Got this one in from our man on the south/central american tour, Samuel Hagler. His ride both sounds and looks epic. I doubt I’ll ever have the desire to do what he has done here. And for good reason. Instead, I’ll just tip a brew back and say goddamn. Nice work man:

Ain’t that some shit

The last time I was in Nashville, it gave me no reason ever to return. It was Road National Championships. The week prior to the race, we spent some quality time rolling around the burbs and hoods. Not once, did I feel save or respected as a cyclist. Apparently, that is status quo.

Everyday

Everyday I read a few blogs. Most of them are about nothing, some are just old friends that I try and stay up to date in their lives. One of these blogs kills me. Everyday I come into work, sit down, turn on the computer and go to this one.
With a sort [...]

Humpday. Musings. Sheldon’s Fixie!!

Insomnia just don’t stop. It’s true. I don’t get out much. I get this angst that I’m never going to find all the good nuggets in the tubes like Bret Michaels getting donkey punched (so to speek) at some award show:

Perhaps that was old news but like I said, I don’t get out much. And [...]

Wide Fucking Open

I’ll not be in attendance at this Friday’s summit in Flagstaff as we’re taking the kids to Sea World over the weekend. It will be interesting to see what transpires. I am hoping that cooler heads will prevail and kick ass bike racing will continue to prosper in and around Flagstaff. [...]

I believe Joe Murray

Like a 24 hour day, I’m done. That shit was blown out worse than Diaz’s dreams and while some may think that horrible things were a result of local opposition to the MBAA race, I believe that much benefit has resulted through this and other discussions. Now it is time to drink and muse. Gold [...]

Blow it out your proportion

Joe didn’t participate in the sabotage. Read BGR’s point of view here.
The thing that nobody understands is how this situation was simply a spontaneous clash and how insignificant it actually was. The fervor has been impressive nonetheless. How the removal of some tape on ONE corner of the course caused so much death and destruction [...]

Dude’s living the dream, and quite cool about it.  Check the vid of the Africanized bee attack Sam got caught up in… and video’d. Be safe Sam!

Federal bailout for bicycles?

Wait a sec… money for riding your bike? This can’t be true. Can it? Well, according to the super fine print we mentioned in a previous post, it is. The Feds are giving out a $20 dollar tax credit per month to anyone who rides their bike to work.
