2012 Tour of Flanders

The 2012 edition of the Tour of Flanders is in the books, I was up at 6:30 to catch the start of the live coverage, I put on a pot of coffee, poured me some hair of the dog, and plopped my fat ass down on the couch to watch.  In the end Boom Boom Boonen took his third victory, proving that when you stop using cocaine good things will happen to you.  Below are some videos from the race if you missed it.

Start of the women’s edition was all I could find in my quick search on youtube, so if anyone knows where to see more footage please post in the comments.  Big congrats to Judith Arndt for taking the win, and also to America’s own Kristen Armstrong (who does crazy offseason workouts like giving birth to a child) on her second place finish.  All of these gals are tougher than me, and most of you.

About 40 Hands

A fan of riding bikes with one gear, malt liquor, riding without knowing how many miles I’ve covered, and strip clubs that let you bring your own keg. I typically have a stupid grin on my face, it is because deep down I know that no matter what, my mom thinks I’m cool. Denver, Colorado, USA

  1. “In the end Boom Boom Boonen took his third victory, proving that when you stop using cocaine good things will happen to you.” LOVE IT!

  2. Nice to see Pozzato worrying a little less about his hair and a little more about getting into the break.

  3. I still don’t understand why the ladies only race 127km (and shorter distances in general). 75% -80% of the men’s distance would be more appropriate, simply reflecting the fact that they are abut 75%-80% of the size. Aren’t they a teeny bit embarrassed to ride less than half the men’s race?

Tomeke is (re?)building a truly exceptional career. You wouldn’t bet against him for a 4th Paris Roubaix.

  4. …what’s unusual about gianni’s video, Sch4bst3r – Tom Boonen vs Cocaine is that it was made utilizing a remarkable new cardiac testing machine & therefor the ‘boom, boom, boom’ you hear is the actual sound of ‘tommeke’s’ heart while you view ultrasound images of it whilst he fucks a 16 year old, stoned on cocaine…

…even more remarkable from a medical perspective is that the occasional ‘voice’ you hear is a recording of his subconscious mind…he never once physically uttered those words…

    …a breakthrough in medical science…
