Steve Vihel recently passed away at a too-young 31 years old – a Flagstaff kid, Tucson bike shop owner and larger-than-life personality – big and inescapably sad news for the AZ cycling community.

Deserves a DC post.

Thanks and peace.

Taylor

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

About big jonny

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. …so very sad…my best to those around the man…

    …he was a heart patient…i didn’t know the man but i know about heart problems & i couldn’t help but shed a tear…

  2. Thanks for posting. I work at Steve’s shop There and Back Bikes. Today we had numerous people come in the door to pay their respects. We’re hoping to keep the shop running and carry on with Steve’s vision.

  3. Really hard to deal with this – he was a great Aussie!! (that would be Australian) my best memories are now in my heart and my head – Thanking God I knew him – wishing for so much more –
