I’ve spent the last week seeing picutres from friends who did the right thing, they scraped together whatever money they had, and got their ass to Kiwi-Land for SSWC. I picked grad school instead, so in the short term I am regretting not getting down there, in the long term game of life, I’ll see how it all pans out. Anyway, the quick and dirt is in, and it looks like Garth Weinberg, and Heather Logie are both sporting some fresh ink. Let me offer my congratulations to them for a ride well done, and a big thumbs up to all the singlespeeders who had a proper time at the event. I’m sure plenty more photos and reports will get posted in the future.

Word 40. The only sswc I’ve ever attended was Downieville in 2002. I hope to be capable of doing it again. In fact, is there any word of who has the venue for 2011?

I was there, ride of my fucking life!
The race was like some kind of delirious realisation of all my wildest fantasies. Railing awesome singletrack with crowds lining the sides, cheering me and other riders. Beer short cuts, random dudes handing beers to riders in the woods, ‘racing’ against some of the worlds best riders as well as my friends.
Rode my arse off, took all the gnarly lines and drank all the beers like a man, only to be told that no results were recorded after 5th, so I could pretty much tell people whatever I wanted for a placing!
All followed by a massive night out.
Fan-fucking-tastic! Can I afford Ireland next year?
