PARIS — A French judge has issued an international arrest warrant for U.S. cyclist Floyd Landis in connection with a case of data hacking at a doping laboratory, France’s anti-doping chief said Monday.

Pierre Bordry told The Associated Press that French judge Thomas Cassuto is seeking to question Landis about computer hacking dating back to September 2006 at the Chatenay-Malabry lab. Months earlier, the laboratory near Paris had uncovered abnormally elevated testosterone levels in Landis’ samples collected in the run-up to his 2006 Tour de France victory.

  1. Dominic about fell off the couch when he heard this, so I figured it was important enough to post here today. We’re getting 9 more fucking inches of snow on top of the foot we got last week. I’m stuck in this goddamn house again.

    Ok, done bitching now.

  2. I, too, almost fell off the couch when I read that! Way to go, Landis, you really fucked this one up for yourself. I wonder what the Mennonites have to say about this one….

  3. Not that I have much to say in favour of Floyd but yee gads people he has been subpoenaed for questioning. Even in France you are presumed innocent till after the trial. Maybe they should bring that in to the US and see if the population agrees with the concept.

  4. I’m certain that Inspector Clouseau is on the job. This one ranks right up there on the WTF-o-Meter.

  5. Why not some degree of reasonable immunity from prosecution of this nature to our champion cyclists. Cheater or not, Floyd Landis won. Dick Cheney cheated a lot too, and he won, at a different game – with some immunity. This is high on the WTF-o-meter, I agree. Makes me want to stop watching the races – when it becomes more about litigation, money, and so many cars and motorcycles, how is it still about bike racing at that point? Ridiculous, and shameful.

  6. I’ve got more faith in Floyd than in this French lab or the French legal system.
I believe Floyd! so go fuck yourself.

  7. looks like ‘ol Floyd will have a little understanding of what LeMond went through as a child when Landis’ pal Arnie called him to talk about “hiding the weenie”…Wouldn’t it be great if Floyd got a different view of ‘life behind bars’

  8. Landis probably just slipped in the back door the labs leave open for the L’Equipe reporters.

  9. When Michael Jordan’s father was murdered, one of the defendants wore Mr J’s suit pants to the murder trial. This would be about that brilliant.

  10. “International arrest warrant”? So that’s the equivalent of what? A parking ticket? Or will jackbooted U.N. thugs break down Mr. Landis’ front door? Can’t imagine that even in the day of Barry Hussein’s apology tour with the bowing to foreign dictators that a French judge’s ruling would trump American soveriegnty.

  11. Jesus, they allow dogs to shit freely on the sidewalks in Paris, but they have the time to chase this crap for nearly 5 years? What a joke!

  12. IF THEY PUT FLOYD LANDIS IN JAIL FOR SUCH LUNATIC BULLSHIT, I’M A GONNA GET ME A TEAM OF METH-HEADS WITH CARBINES AND 30 ROUND MAGAZINES AND BUST THE FUCKER OUT MY FUCKING SELF. FLOYD RIDES THE BIKE – AND HE’S GOOD AT IT. THEREFORE, WITH MY REASONING, HE RULES. FUCK ADMINISTRATIVE CRAP. FUCK IT ALL.

  13. I have over a dozen of the same warrants in France on my head mainly involving reckless driving and such . yet I enter the country seamlessly every so three or four months . He has nothing to worry about . Yes Cleauseau is on the case ……. For sale , French military weapon , never been fired ,been thrown down once . The French start it , we finish it !!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. wow, I just heard the story on espn radio and they reported it as if he had without a doubt committed the crime and it was just a matter of time before the french judge or whoever got a hold of him. ESPN just threw an American under a french bus. WTF is this mickey mouse bullsh!it!

  15. “doper, liar, cheater, hacker” and a stud on a bike.. stage 17 was awesome and should be remembered for the courage it took to take off like that.

We’ll turn Floyd over when Roman Polanski finally shows up on US soil… where exactly did he hide out for 30 years?

  16. How come all the other europeans who get busted return the sport after their ban and still remain on the pro tour circuit… I mean, Basso wasn’t winning anything when he came back but he was looking pretty ok, but… Floyd can’t even win a parking lot crit in america… hm… Just curious…?

  17. dude hacked (more likely paid someone to) computers to hide the fact that he was doping…everyone may dope (sad), but hacking the lab’s computer to hide it strikes me as a crime. i’m pretty sure if i did it, i’d go to jail…riding a bike well doesn’t make you above laws. are you gonna sit your kids down tonight and explain why they should look up to this guy…the cheater that breaks rules and then laws to cover it up? flog him publicly! let the kids join in and charge as an anti-doping fundraiser!

totally diggin your posts, Judi. way to represent the XX!

  18. cheating and trying to cover it up and not be held responsible for his action, who does Floyd think he is? A member of Congress??
