Happy Friday. Seems an appropriate day for some videos. Maybe a gallon of ice cream. Tubby time. You know.
The Niner crew looked good in that one. John, Dejay, Tool Shed. Hell. It just doesn’t get anymore better than that. All from 29 pollici. Makes me think it was in Italy. Damn. Makes a brother want to get out there. Hell. Yesterday I pulled the road bike out of the basement, dusted the tope tup off. Next week, I’ll lube the chain. Start planning a route. Oh yea, it’s gonna be good.
Today, I’m taking the opportunity today to drive to L.A. for a wedding. They Angry Hippy is behind the wheel.
As far as the oppressive part, my man Roether is having the battle of his life.
Forgive the more sobering portion of this message, but I felt the need to reach out to those that know Doug and Deborah and may not have heard that he is currently fighting cancer. The whole thing came up pretty quick. Just a few months ago we were pedaling around S. mnt without a care in the world. So if you want more information or would like to drop him a message, here is a link.
Roether is one of the coolest reps on the AZ routine since I can know. I know he’s got good fight though. All wishes of luck his way.
Levi, you want to hold this? Leip was done on stage 15. L.A. gave wood to 17, held with Cervelo dude. Di Luca seems doped to the gills. Pellizotti put time into them all. Blockhaus was like this. The last two days have finished on climbs. Most respectable. I skipped watching stage 18. It finished on the downhill. I’ll come back to it. But today is 19 and that means Vesuvius which looks like this. Man, it was good. Pelizotti is more uiced than Di Luca.

Oh yeah, and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s probably wouldn’t hurt.

Yesterday I rode fifty miles on a sparkling afternoon and felt pretty good about it.
Today I installed a 27 cog on The Trophy Bike and feel weak and impure. Now get off my lawn, punk!

Holy crap, I jumped right out of my chair when the Maglia Rosa hit the deck in the last kilometer of the final TT, trying to hammer a full-blown TT rig with a disc on the rear over wet cobblestones.
Yeah, that was sort of dramatic. Forza, Denis! Bravo!

My wife, and fellow biking partner, is close to the end of her fight with cancer. So what did we learn kids? Dont take one ride for granted. Eat desert first, cause you could be dead by the time the main course rolls around. Call someone to say “Hey, love you. Ya prick.”. Fuckin fight back with a quite rage against age, and apathy, stay young in your heart. I hate cancer for the bringer of suffering that it is. It has robbed the dignity from my wife in so many ways. I am angry, and hurt, and late for work. Turn off the computer, revolt against the man, grab your bike and ride fucker ride! Peace to all of you, and I’m glad the AZ fight has died out. Waste of time and focus. Get some.

Lance was impressive in week 3 IMHO
he also brought some late smack. Asked about DiLuca gaining time. ” he only gains time with Bonification”
That had to sting the little man….

True dat. Getting 12th on GC after a three week “training ride” is pretty good. If Lance stays healthy, he will dish a metric fuck ton of hurt at the Tour.

as a guy who has logged some serious hospital time i can say that if anyone will kick this shit it’s Roether. show that crap who’s boss, Doug. Garro.

Hey, I’m spiffing up an old bike to add to the fleet as a loaner and I’ve discovered that the rear derailleur is bent. (It was raced ‘cross, how could that have happened?)
Any of you guys happen to have an old Shimano Deore LX or equivalent 7-speed rear de sitting around? I need the long idler cage for triple-ring operation. I see them going for about $30 on the interwebs but I’d rather “buy local.”

Also there is something odd about Di Luca’s face. not a wrinkle to be found. It looks stretched flat and sanded like he lives in the OC. Dude looks like Cher for fucks sake. wtf is up with that? nip and tuck? first he is bitter Lance got all the fame all those years now he is pissed Boonen gets all the pussy?

No nip tuck for Di Luca, try HGH….smoothes the skin like 12 year old boy. Oil for drugs bitches…oil for drugs
