I’d think the points enumerated in this film to be common knowledge among Americans with any wareness of history. But I’ve been wrong before.

…thanks for the showing…i’d heard the basics of the story but to learn it in detail from the mouths of people involved brought it all home more clearly…

…so, today, sunday, general motors ceo wagoner complies & steps down at the prez’s request…on top of that, it could be that there’s no more bailout money for gm & chrysler…monday, we learn the truth…

…however it plays out, president oboss-man is wielding a big knife as he advances on detroit city & if you can’t see that the american auto industry has a ton of fat that needs to be trimmed for every ton of usable muscle, well maybe you haven’t been paying attention…nobody wants to see the u.s. auto worker suffer but here’s your reality check…

Good find Gnome. Boy this shit makes me sick.

What makes me even more sick is that the Obama administration’s new federal fuel economy standards are even weaker than the Bush administration’s. They’ll let the big three continue to build big polluting gas hawgs… When building hummers instead of hybrids in the face of four dollar gas and global warming is precisely what caused the big three’s demise in the first place.

I say let them die the pathetic and shameful business death they deserve. The big three are a disaster for our environment and every dollar spent bailing them out could instead be spent putting people to work building a viable public transportation system that could last for generations.
