I took photos of three of my bikes after riding each of them around the block.
Moser w/ Dura Ace 10
Ciocc w/ Campy 8 spd
Lemond w/ Campy Chorus 8 spd

ahh sweet beautiful steel…those mono-cock modern bikes can’t hold a candle to the elegance and class of a lugged steel frame. The best bike I ever owned a Serotta Nova Special X.

Looks SWWWEEET kinda familiar.
ColonelSanders on January 5th, 2009 4:48 pm
The Lemond is a sweet looking bike. Gimmie.
The Ciocc would pass muster as well.
The Moser should only be ridden by a poofter in San Fran.
Just saying…..
Gnome on January 5th, 2009 4:54 pm
Na. The Moser is a Moser. Tall. Long. Pink. That’s the way jonny likes em. Gotta respect that regardless of what the cool kids are doing these days. Dude stays true to the DC code.
Update: WTF with the Koi fish pond Jonny? Is that required by the HOA?
Mikey on January 5th, 2009 5:10 pm
down tube friction shifters, sweet.
Mikey on January 5th, 2009 5:18 pm
PS- I put about nine hundred miles on the steel ‘cross bike in 2008 and it’s a great ride, but it can’t hold a candle to the ride quality or raw speed of the full carbon Trophy Bike.

Sweet rides. Wish DC had a rides gallery page.
peace

Which one is your favorite?
Better yet.. You have fuck one.. kill one and marry one. Which gets which?
sommerfliesby on January 5th, 2009 6:49 pm
Today I picked up my first full-suspension mtb…Titus Racer X. Unfortunately, due to lack of daylight and ice on the trails, all I could do was take pictures of it in my basement. Next to my steel singlespeed.
Sweet rides bj…I’d need a freakin’ step ladder to even get on one of those…frames look huge!
Corey the Courier on January 5th, 2009 7:34 pm
With the Moser: something about the classic Italian steel and 10-sp Shimano just don’t seem right. I hate campy, but I think you jumped the shark on this one.
That chooch is a sweet looking ride. I bet it’s as smooth and broken in as last place in a gang bang. Too bad it weighs a ton with those f*k*n deep dish wheels.
The Lemond is ugly as hell but classy representation of when 8sp was hot.
I’d show you pix of my bikes but they’re ALL filthy like whores in a brothel.
They ain’t pretty to look at but they’ll make the Kessel run in 7 parsecs…
Corey the Courier on January 5th, 2009 7:41 pm
Oh yeah, today I rode my bike all over NYC: Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. I’m hoping the rubber lasts another week or two with the Mr Tuffy tire liner. It’s a blast riding tires from brand new to giant holes in the tread without getting a flat.
bikesgonewild on January 5th, 2009 7:55 pm
…nice quiver, juan grande…
…& i checked on-line w/ all three companies…they all said their bikes could be safely ridden further than just around the block…
…have at it…
Bigfallsdown on January 5th, 2009 7:55 pm
You achieved a trifecta and had a very, very good day!
big jonny on January 5th, 2009 8:03 pm
The Kessel Run in seven parsecs? And here I thought a dozen parsecs was fast…
uglyyeti on January 5th, 2009 8:10 pm
I’d rather see a picture of the actual Greg Lemond dangling from a tree by his seat over an algae coated pond. I think I’ve stated my distaste for the man here before.
I’m sure you followed the proper cleansing procedures to thoroughly remove the heavy wretched stench of bitter douchiness that may have contaminated this frame at the Lemond facility.
Very nice steel collection – the Moser and Ciocc are beauts – DA was rebellious but a good call for a big guy – Campy brifters are better left for folks with little hands. I can’t get my thumbs contorted to the right spot with Campy. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Was gonna let the big man slide on the fish pond but it’s too good of an opportunity…let me guess, your house looks suspiciously like your neighbors?
butthead on January 5th, 2009 10:26 pm
Greg is the man
The Little Bastard on January 5th, 2009 10:28 pm
A fool day since the Birds handed the Vikings an ass-kicking bonanza and you’re talking bikes. What kind of a bike/porn blog is this? Eagles vs Steelers 09…
The Little Bastard on January 5th, 2009 10:28 pm
and yes, i mean fool, not full.
pirata on January 5th, 2009 10:31 pm
Damn, those big frames make the wheels look like 650s.
Dig the Moser. Its got gears and I am pretty sure you aren’t rockin girlie jeans when riding it.
Today…I rode my dirty cx bike through the slop between rain showers, got home, noted how dirty it was/how badly it needs cleaning, went inside and cracked a cold one. No love for the bikes sometimes…how sad.
At least the rain is keeping the mud coating thickness down.
uglyyeti on January 6th, 2009 5:25 am
The scale on the Ciocc certainly gives the illusion of 650s. The only steel road bike left in our house is my wife’s 650c Slingshot – that’s a spry little machine.
I’ve been patiently waiting for the Eagles hype to start. I’m pulling for them hard this Sunday assuming the Panthers get past the Cards Saturday night. An Eagles win is the ticket to another Panthers home game!
Hellbelly on January 6th, 2009 7:35 am
Nice mobile scaffolding! Stack’em and climb’em to clean-out those gutters or pick some dates! I to suffer from too much obsolete steel, but they sure look good and re-kindle a memory or two.
HostileLocal! on January 6th, 2009 9:01 am
A truly fine showcase of bikes. Way to keep true to tradition, craftsmanship, and quality. But WTF – an outdoor pond in PHX? Ridiculous.
zen on January 6th, 2009 10:15 am
DA on a Moser…Wrong…..Very Wrong…..
Opus the Poet on January 6th, 2009 12:17 pm
I just wanted to drop a line to say “Thank You” for adding me to your blogroll. I just found out yesterday when I was checking refferrals. Anywho I put a link in my blog back here as thanks, so people who don’t know about DC can find you.
dave on January 10th, 2009 5:05 am
I’ve actually considered converting my old Fuji League (cheap steel POS) to 650b for better (some) tire and fender clearance. Only problem-the frame is 64 cm. Jeeze, tell me it wouldn’t look like a Moulton or some shit.
