I lied about that being my last comment. : ) This will be though.

How can you justify calling me names when you don’t even know what the facts are “Jake”? You even admitted that, so why the judgement and shit talk? Do you think all the random riders, like myself, that showed up to that alleycat where riding around with lists of everyone elses names in their bags? That doesn’t even make sense. The police never got this “participant list” your talking about, I don’t know why you seem to think that. If they did get one don’t you think it would have been from the person who had it/signed peps up? (didn’t happen) What makes you think any of us signed our real names for an illegal race anyway? Your logic is off due to negativity.

The reason I got upset with the bullshit name calling is because I’d like to think that us cyclists’ form a community that supports one another. I’ve received alot of support from the people I’ve had the pleasure to meet and ride with and I greatly appreciate it. All I’ve read on this blog so far is a bunch of negative misinformed drama and ego trippin. It’s over for me. I refuse to project anything but “benefit of the doubt” and positivity to my fellow cylists. Fighting each other with words of hate and misconception is a waste of time. It’s not worth it and it’s extremely lame. Don’t let your ego eat your heart. Peace Out

i dont know why you got assaulted. maybe they thought you were trying to resist arrest and escape on bicycle. i can’t defend them or you, since i dont know the situation.

If you’re gonna swing, then by god swing for the fences. So if an illegal race it is, then plan on some illegal activities to follow along suit. And as long as you have enough beer, you can’t have any bad ideas, just unsuccessful attempts.

i rekon my problem is more with writing down your names, signing waivers for an illegal event and the attitudes of guys like “G” more than anything else. I was just venting to my friend in an e-mail about what I heard from somebody that was VERY close to you the night it happened and I guess it was shit disturbing enough for him to post on his web site. Don’t pay me any mind, I’m just some soft slow guy that isn’t cutting edge enough. All you fixster hipsters can go fuck yourselves. It’s about the ride. Go ride.

hey chris.
your assumptions are wrong. i didn’t “hand over” my manifest. it was forcibly removed from me along with my bag and bike. as to how i “got caught”, it was 6 security guards to my 1 and i was assaulted. it wasn’t exactly a fair fight. we were wrongfully attacked and just because i was a few seconds behind i had to endure security and police brutality. all of my bullshit charges were dropped.
you shouldn’t talk shit if you don’t know shit. congrads on spreading crap about people you don’t know. you are a dark cloud of negativity and nothing good can come of it. way to stick up for your fellow cyclist.

I think Mr. dirtybiker has a point here. I understand the idea of riding fast, faster than your buddies, even if I’m not all that fast myself. For me, it’s usually a geared bike with a freewheel.

The fixie kids around here seem to represent fashion and unsafe riding… blowing through intersections without a helmet. (No brakes, I guess.)

And this mentality is what is wrong with cycling overall. I guess that feeling of fun is an afterthought when you the only reply to a debate about how lame fixies are is “pride or money on the line”. Sounds like you don’t have to much pride, and if you’re that accomplished a rider chances are you don’t have that much money.

but what you are doing isn’t cutting edge and new, it has actually been around for a very long time. it has just now become trendy. this is such a lame argument but it is one that won’t go away. seeing that you are so concerned with beating everybody and being ultra competitive might be the reason for these types of clashes. seems to me that most people from the pre-hipster generation don’t take themselves as seriously and realize that single speeds in the mountains and track bikes on the street are usually the wrong tool for the job. but now with a new wave of popularity that seems to have been missed. thats my 2 cents and food for thought, or fuel for the fire…its hard to tell. agree to disagree. talk shit like its your job but keep cool. ride fast. say hi to other riders on the street.
