Yeah Big-J! I’ve always argued that jazz and punk share similar cultural and political roots. It’s amazing what happens when creative disenfranchised peoples let loose. Miles is a perfect example… nice post! Now where’d I put that beer.

I read a Miles biography(might of been auto bio). When he went through his Bitches Brew period he toured with some rockers. He called Steve Miller “a no-playing motherfucker” which I always found appropriate after being force fed whatever that I’m a smoker I’m a toker tune is by FM radio back then. Anyway, check out my man Rahsaan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqXYAcVPDD4

Heyman, he’s just Miles, ..got it?
Best Miles story I know…a (white) interviewer asked him what he’d do if he knew he he was about to die.

    ‘Go kill white people.’

Speaking only for my little piece o dirt, …I liked Train better most of the time.

All children should learn to read music in grade school, and have music history that teaches them Kind of Blue to Bach.

    For further edification…

find Eddie Jefferson’s version of So What.
