Can we discribe Rudy Giuliani’s campaign as being in “free fall” yet?
And will this send it clear over the edge?
The judge hearing the corruption case against former New York police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said Monday that Kerik’s lawyer could furnish “compelling” testimony against him.
…Prosecutors have a witness — former Kerik lawyer Joseph Tacopina — who is expected to testify that Breen was at meetings when Kerik gave his lawyers false information to present to the Bronx district attorney’s office as part of settlement negotiations in a previous investigation.
The information was about renovations to Kerik’s Bronx apartment. Kerik, the Rudy Giuliani protege who was briefly nominated for Department of Homeland Security chief, allegedly claimed he paid for the renovations himself. The federal indictment, however, says he accepted $255,000 in work from a company hoping to get city contracts. The indictment also accuses him of lying to the White House and filing false income tax returns, among other crimes.
