Marie-Hélène Primeau, 17 years old and days away from starting her studies at an Ottawa art college, was on her bike on the Lady Aberdeen Bridge on Tuesday night when she was struck and killed by a pickup truck.

The man behind the wheel had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his bloodstream after spending the day drinking at a Gatineau strip bar, a Crown prosecutor said yesterday.

Rémi William Comeau, who faces eight charges in connection with a series of collisions that night, has been convicted for drunk driving twice before, his defence lawyer said.

The man, the legend. The guy who started it all back in the Year of Our Lord Beer, 2000, with a couple of pages worth of idiotic ranting hardcoded on some random porn site that would host anything you uploaded, a book called HTML for Dummies (which was completely appropriate), a bad attitude (which hasn’t much changed), and a Dell desktop running Win95 with 64 mgs of ram and a six gig hard drive. Those were the days. Then he went to law school. Go figure. Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

  1. WHAT????? The strip club hasn’t been charged? They kept serving when he was smashed, then told him to leave. Oh, Well, I guess I’m in the clear if someone else were to make the bomb, and I only lit the fuse. A person died. Others could have just as easily that day. I guess it takes many more deaths to matter enough to punish all involved.

  2. Don’t worry… Im sure he’ll get a bit more when he gets back in circulation.

And I wouldn’t say never on the family sueing the strip bar, but this is Canada, not the US. I know I would, if only to provoke some sort of responsibility by the bartenders/owners there. But again… its a strip bar.

  3. …after reading the facts, i tried 3x times in a row to express my abject frustrations & erased them every time…
…there are so many irresponsible people & actions related to this situation, that it’s overwhelming…
…but only one thing counts…a life was lost…that is too high a fucking cost…

  4. There has been a bunch of car-rider accidents lately around the city. I live within a ten minute ride and cross that bridge a couple times a week on rides up into Gatineau Park for my road training loop. It always got bikers on it. Glad to see society, even the ones in prison, haven’t loss their sense of right and wrong.

  5. “We were all making fun of him when he got here because he could hardly walk. It was like he had been on a drinking binge all day.” He was hammered BEFORE he even got there?! anyone there even think of grabbing this asshole’s keys? fuck me. what a waste of air. kill him now.
