Thanks for the information. After facing amateur rivals in Italy for years that had “superhuman powers” and being accused of doping myself (I have never) I now understand at what exspanse this “epidemic” is in the sport that I love.

Big Jonny – Thanks & major props for the opportunity to read the whole article.
Having watched & loved this sport since the late “60’s/early ’70’s, I am a little less reactionary than some in regard to the present situation, yet still thoroughly appalled. While technology has brought us an awesome display of cycling products over the years, it has also saddled us with an insidious cheating problem.
More, better, faster could always be bought, but intelligent, scientific minds find it worthwhile to spend their time resolving the matter of getting caught. Makes quite a statement as regards the human condition.
I gotta have faith that cyclings’ problems will resolve themselves if only for financial reasons although that’s kinda how they got there.
Cycling is an amazing activity & bicycle racing has, is & will always be a beautiful spectacle. The sport WILL pull through. Let’s hope the damage isn’t too great!

Nothin’ new here. Jorg’s got nothin’ to loose so may as well burn down the house. Omerta only works when there’s back up. They shit on him, he shits on them, tit for tat. Funny thing is that every 10 years or so, someone writes something like this – hi Willy Voet, hi Paul Kimmage – and everyone else in the sport sez – ‘j’accuse! – bitter, rat, has-been, couldn’t make it, looser, liar’ etc. And the cycling press and cycling fans swallow it whole, better that the show just go on. We’d rather believe the ‘victims’ of a missive like this, than the poor sod who’s crying out truths as he sees them. After all, he’s just doin’ it for the money.

I ma of two minds on this. On the one hand, it is good to see someone trying their best to aid an investigation bent on cleaning an obviously dirty sport. On the other, he is a rat and is only doing this to clear his own name in order to return to racing soon.
