Art By Cyclists

July 3rd was the opening of Urban Velo’s inaugural Art By Cyclists event.

Art By Cyclists. Get it? Not art featuring bicycles. These are artists that ride bikes, or cyclists that make art, or some combination of the two and their current pick of what piece to show off in such an illustrious show. Rudi Nadler, Steve Smith, Kevin Nierman, Melissa Dehner plus enough to make 20 some total artists presented various works.

And the locals came. And the locals ate. And the locals drank.

And then the locals went on a bike ride.

The future may see this show go on the road, or not. But this won’t be the last. For the masses are thirsty, for art that is.

About Brad

Bikes are cool, and I’ve been making a go at this ‘industry’ thing for a while now. You may remember me from some nine years at Dirt Rag Magazine. Or not. Now I do some writing, wrenching and photography to pay the bills. And run my half of a little magazine project called Urban Velo. We love riding in the city. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
